Guillermo “Indio” Fidalgo Marine Wildlife Rescue Station (ERFAM)

In April 2017, ERFAM was created as a strategic alliance between Lanchas del Sur, the Port Management Consortium of Bahía Blanca, and a team of local professionals with extensive experience in biodiversity conservation and management.

This team—made up of biologists, veterinarians, and park rangers—has dedicated years to the rescue and rehabilitation of marine animals both in Argentina and abroad.

The station was established due to the lack of specialized centers in the region to address the growing need to rescue and rehabilitate marine animals, which often require care to support the conservation and recovery of our marine wildlife.

In addition to primary care for animals, at ERFAM we also address environmental issues affecting our oceans and their connection to human activity. Through a non-formal environmental education program, we aim to raise awareness and promote ecotourism.

Soon, we plan to inaugurate a space to welcome visitors, strengthening community connection with the natural environment and positioning ourselves as an ecotourism alternative in the Bahía Blanca estuary region.

The rescue station is an official member of the Marine Wildlife Rescue Network of the Province of Buenos Aires
