Floating Containment Booms: Prevention Requires Maintenance
Floating containment booms are part of the systems designed for environmental prevention and protection in maritime and industrial environments.
To ensure they remain available and in proper operating condition, having the equipment alone is not enough. Periodic inspections, checks, and maintenance tasks are also necessary to identify deterioration or anomalies and address them when required.
Inspection and System Check
In a recent operation, we carried out inspection and maintenance tasks on a floating containment boom system.
The work included routine inspection rounds, verification of the overall condition of the system’s various components, cleaning of the water surface, and removal of foreign objects present in the area.
We also carried out repair and refurbishment work on components that required intervention, subsequently verifying the condition of the system.
Maintenance to Preserve Operational Condition
During inspections, situations may be identified that require a specific response, ranging from the removal of objects present in the water to the repair or refurbishment of containment system components.
This type of maintenance makes it possible to address any issues identified and helps preserve the equipment’s proper operational condition.
Maritime Resources and Personnel for Each Intervention
To carry out these tasks, we combine operational personnel, vessels, and resources suited to the specific requirements of each intervention.
At Lanchas del Sur S.A., we provide services related to environmental prevention and protection, supporting maritime and industrial facilities with inspection, maintenance, and operational assistance tasks.
